Poll types
Polls for Jira supports the following types of polls:
Basic
Use basic pools to make quick decisions within your team. Users can select one or multiple options you provide (minimum of two) with instant results. It could be anything from where you’re going out that evening, to estimating the amount of work involved for an issue.Event
Use event polls to schedule when meetings and important events should take place. You can choose one or multiple days, which are either all-day events, or specific times on each day.
Creating a poll
By default, Polls for Jira is enabled on all projects and for all users. Anyone can click the ‘Polls’ button located in the top navigation of an issue, to open up the polls section within the ticket. This section can be collapsed and deleted by users as they wish.
Creating a basic poll
Clicking the ‘Basic Poll' button will bring up the following window, whereby you can select options for your poll. This includes:
A name of the poll
A short description of the poll
Whether users can vote for a single option, or multiple options
Whether other users are allowed to edit the settings for a poll and/or add options
Whether users can only vote once, or can change their vote
Whether users should remain anonymous, or have their names shown beneath their selected vote
Creating an event poll
Clicking the ‘Event Poll' button will bring up the following window, whereby you can select options for scheduling your event. This includes:
A name of the poll
A short description of the poll
What dates you want to select
Whether the time of the event should be the same on each day
The time you wish to select, for the selected date
Whether you would like to have specific times for each day
Editing a poll
You can click the edit icon (the little pencil) next to any poll to edit the options, add additional options, or change the settings.
Deleting a poll
You can click the delete button (the little dustbin) next to a poll to delete a poll. Note: you can only do this if you are the owner of the poll (you are the creator).
